Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Mild mulled smell – especially cinnamon. Semi-sweet apple aroma.
Initial Taste: Light bite and smooth. Sweet taste. Pulpy, single-variety apple flavour. Crisp feel on the palate. Mild flavour from the spices.
After Taste: Becomes quite tangy and malty. Individual spices are more distinguishable here, including cardamom and cinnamon. Crisp finish that has some sweetness lingering.
On ice: Carbonation is cut. Flavour and spice is reduced. Slightly more crisp.
Additional Notes: Ward’s Picker’s Hut Winter Spice is a very mild and smooth mulled cider – which is refreshing as some mulled ciders and drinks can be very strong and aggressive on the palate. With a smooth body, it is more apple than spice but the cardamom and cinnamon are quite enjoyable additions. It is a very crisp cider that is sweet but not sugary – adding to the smoothness of it.
