Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong, musty apple aroma, with a medium dry-hopped presence.
Initial Taste: Medium-mild bite from acidity. A musty, mature and clean crisp apple taste with some fermentation noticeable. Hops are detectable right away with some dry elements. Some residual bitterness from hops.
After Taste: Bitterness starts to fade pretty quickly. Almost grassy in taste – with some orange & citrus notes. Apple flavour dissipates and you are left with an earthly/leafy, semi-dry finish of apple and hops.
On ice: Carbonation cut. Some of the flavour is reduced. Hops are dulled. If you find the hops too harsh, add ice.
Additional Notes: Spirit Tree has released a hoppy but extra smooth cider that would most likely satisfy any IPA or pale ale beer drinker. This earthy cider carefully balances both the hops and apple flavours – leaving it quite crisp and clean but still with a semi-dry finish. A very unique take on an increasingly crowded hopped cider market.
