Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Strong, musty and astringent apples aroma. Some apple flesh notes too.
Initial Taste: Little bite from acidity. Smooth to consume and light apple flavour. Quite earthy and musty with sweet notes. Slightly astringent.
After Taste: Semi-long lingering with lots of tannic taste and sensation – with some sweetness that remains. Dry finish and more astringent in the aftertaste.
On ice: Looses a lot of carbonation and flavour. Flatter, less sweet, more crisp.
Additional Notes: Empire’s Dry Apple cider does not have an overly strong apple presence but it does have a lot of different characteristics that makes it craft, sophisticated and obviously aged well. Defiantly not a commercial cider, but far from what you might call a home-brew (despite being made in a home garage). With a lot of mustiness, astringency, and earthiness, it brings to mind a Spanish Sidra in some regards. Maybe not a beginner cider.
