Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Mild smell of apples and currants. Slightly acidic smelling.
Initial Taste: Extremely tart and sour. Has a sharp bite and pucker. Strong black currant taste.
After Taste: Remains sour for a long time. Dark berry flavours develop (cranberry, blackberry, raspberry) along with the black currant flavours.
On ice: Same carbonation. Currant flavour isn’t as strong. Not as tart and puckering over ice.
Additional Notes: As this black currant cider is very tart and sour, we recommend drinking it on ice to make the beverage smoother to consume. This cider has one of the longest lingering aftertaste we’ve experienced. It is slightly syrupy in taste and feel, but a lot of the flavour is overpowered by the sour and tart sensations.
