Cider Crate Tasting Notes:
Smell: Medium aroma. Bright, creamy apples. Slightly tart. Touch of pear skin.
Initial Taste: Mild bite. Quickly apple forward. Caramelized/baked fruits. Tangy and very crisp. Some pear notes.
After Taste: Apple becomes cleaner and more crisp. Pear skins become more obvious. Some tannins. Semi-long lingering. Clean mouthfeel and finish.
On ice: Makes it much ‘cooling’ and with more sharp flavour notes. Less caramelized/baked notes.
Additional Notes: Gessiberger’s Farmhouse Hard Apple Pear Cider is a very clean and fruit forward mixture of apple and pear flavours. Incredibly crisp, it starts off with tangy and gripping apple notes. Pear is slightly noticeable upfront but then the skins become more obvious near the finish. Off-dry, it doesn’t taste too sweet and has a smooth and light body. We much preferred it on ice and it becomes ‘cooling’ and has sharper flavours. A rustic, farmhouse offering done modern.
